he Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs is pleased to announce the award of nearly $1 million in grant funding to support a range of robust and innovative local veteran service efforts and key projects to improve veterans’ access to transportation, housing, health care and other vital services across the state.
The Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs is pleased to announce it has awarded grants totaling $600,000 to expand Campus Veteran Resource Centers at 15 community colleges and public university and bolster other services aimed at helping Oregon student veterans. Veteran Resource Centers are vital in helping veterans transition from military service to college life, complete their educational and vocational goals and successfully transition back into the civilian workforce and community.
Volunteers will place holiday wreaths to honor and remember our nation’s Veterans at many of VA’s national cemeteries on Saturday, Dec. 18 during this year’s national Wreaths Across America event.
