The next meeting of the Veterans Advisory Committee to the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs (ODVA) will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in-person at Mt. Vernon Community Hall located at 640 Ingle Street in Mt. Vernon. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and a Town Hall open to the public will follow.
Since the ODVA Veteran Advisory Committee was established in 1945, it has held a distinct and fundamental role in advising the Director and staff of ODVA. The nine Veteran Advisory Committee members are military veterans from all corners of the state, appointed by the Governor to serve and act as advocates for veteran issues and veteran concerns across Oregon.
This meeting is being held in-person only. The public is invited to attend.
Following every quarterly business meeting, the committee holds a Town Hall which the public is invited to ask questions or share information with the committee and agency director. This time is set aside for individuals to bring up broader veteran community issues. Members of the community are also invited to submit written public comments to the committee by emailing odva_vaac@odva.oregon.gov.
ODVA’s Reports to the Veterans Advisory Committee are available to the public on the ODVA website: www.oregon.gov/odva/Connect/Pages/Advisory-Committee.aspx
