I was sad to learn that my friend Alvin “Bud” Christopherson died while I was on vacation. If I hadn’t been out of state, I would have attended his memorial service Jan. 23 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
His granddaughter, Annette Day, texted me photographs of the service, which included full military honors. Bud was a World War II veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor.
