SPRINGFIELD — Shelley Corteville recalled the annual phone calls from her father thanking her for her service each Veterans Day and how, after his recent death, she won’t get that phone call on Saturday.
But speaking to 200 fellow veterans and supporters at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in Willamalane Park on Friday, the Springfield resident and U.S. Army veteran asked people to do more this weekend than just thank women who have served.
