The Advisory Committee to the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs (ODVA) is seeking input from Women Veterans across the state through a new statewide survey aimed at better understanding the experiences, needs, and priorities of Women Veterans in Oregon.
Oregon is home to nearly 28,000 Women Veterans, representing one of the fastest-growing veteran populations in both the state and the nation. However, many women who served in the military are not always recognized as veterans or may not identify themselves as veterans, which can create barriers to accessing earned benefits, services, and community support.
Currently, three Women Veterans serve on the Advisory Committee and are focused on elevating the voices and experiences of women who have served in the armed forces. As part of this effort, the committee has launched a short survey to gather feedback directly from Women Veterans throughout Oregon.
The survey seeks input on several key topics, including:
- Access to benefits and services
- Challenges faced by Women Veterans
- Priorities for improving programs, outreach, and support systems
The feedback collected will be compiled and shared with the Advisory Committee to help inform future discussions, recommendations, and advocacy efforts focused on strengthening services and support for Women Veterans statewide.
The survey:
- Takes approximately five minutes to complete
- Does not collect personally identifiable information
- Maintains confidentiality, with responses shared only in summary form
- Will be open from June 1-30
ODVA encourages all Women Veterans in Oregon to participate in the survey and share their experiences. Community organizations, veteran service providers, and partner agencies are also encouraged to distribute the survey within their networks to help expand outreach efforts.
