Baker City Councilor Jim Thomas last week took a $1,000 check to the City of Baker City for the Veterans section of the Mt. Hope Cemetery. This was given by the Baker Valley Shuffleboard organization, according to Baker City Manager Fred Warner, who says this is one of five $1,000 donations to deserving charities in Baker City.
