Veterans, Afghans or their families who need assistance due to the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan are eligible for help from the Independence Line – a new call center launched by The Independence Fund and Loyal Source.
“With tens of thousands of Afghan men, women and children arriving in the U.S., there is a critical need to help these refugees navigate America’s complex refugee and asylum systems and ensure U.S. Veterans get the care and benefits they rate and need, where and when they need it,” said Sarah Verardo, CEO, The Independence Fund. “We want Veterans, Afghans and their families and friends to know The Independence Fund is here for them.”
The Independence Line is staffed by qualified professionals to assist those with getting the resources they need.
Callers can find assistance related to housing, food, mental health, health care, clothing, legal assistance and a host of other resources. Call center staff also work with The Independence Fund’s case management team to find the best, quickest services to fill any gaps.
Veterans, Afghans and their families are encouraged to call The Independence Line’s toll-free number 1-855-341-5456 for support. The call center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET.
