Program helps disabled veterans

Charter Spectrum’s Team Lend A Hand provided assistance for a Seaside homeowner on Oct. 26.

The team provides minor repairs and essential accessibility upgrades that will increase livability and safety for seniors, disabled persons and veterans who do not have the financial capacity to complete the repairs or upgrades on their own. The program serves both homeowners and renters who reside in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook Counties. Funding comes from private donations and foundation grants.

“I am so pleased with the contribution Charter Spectrum makes in our local communities,” State Sen. Betsy Johnson said in a statement. “For the second year in a row, Charter has stepped up to provide needed funding to Community Action Team to assist disabled veterans and families in need of emergency home repair and weatherization.”
