It’s been a long time coming, but the 2017 is set and will take place at the Hyatt Regency Downtown in Houston, Texas, Aug. 25-26, with an opening reception Aug. 24.
Much has changed since VA held its last national-level event for women Veterans in 2011, so there will be a tremendous amount of new and useful information available – as well as a host of resources and activities onsite.

Through the summit, we are bringing together key stakeholders from across a variety of sectors to help women Veterans through forward-thinking dialogue and innovative collaboration among private industry, nonprofit organizations, the federal government, innovators, researchers, caregivers and Veterans.
The summit will focus on the issues important to women Veterans as well as provide training and guidance to assist women and their supporters in navigating VA resources, as well as state, local, and partner resources. Attendees will have opportunity to hear from the senior VA leaders, participate in breakout sessions focused on employment, mental health, entrepreneurship, military sexual trauma, reproductive health, culture change and more.
Retired Lt. Gen. Patricia Horoho – first woman and first nurse to serve as the Army’s surgeon general – will be one of our keynote speakers. The event will also feature a screening of the documentary Journey to Normal, women Veteran ASAP Comedy Bootcamp alums and a display of works by women Veteran artists.
