MCMINNVILLE, Ore. — One local man is using his skills as a model maker to remember those who served in World War II.

When an injury disabled David Foss of Sherwood, he decided to use his time to create models for veterans.

He met Don Anderson at a post office and decided to build a model B-17 for the 92-year-old.

Anderson was a tail-gunner on a Flying Fortress during the war, surviving 22 missions. He decided to donate the model to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville next to a real B-17.
