Operation Gratitude invites children to sell their excess Halloween candy in support of United States military personnel and first responders.

Kids are invited to bring Halloween candy and handwritten letters of gratitude to any branch of Community Bank. The goodies will be shipped to Operation Gratitude for inclusion in care packages to service members deployed overseas and to local first responders.

Community Bank will offer $1 per pound of candy, up to five pounds, Wednesday, Nov. 1 through Tuesday, Nov. 7. Regional branches are located at 50 E. Theater Lane, Hermiston; 157 S. Main St., Pendleton; 127 N. Main St., Heppner; and 504 N. Main St., Milton-Freewater.
