(Approximately 18,648 vets in Central Oregon with 14,645/Deschutes, 2,309/Crook and 1,694/Jefferson respectively) Did you know that the PTSD suicide rate nationwide is 22 per day and Oregon’s suicide rate is 1 every 3 days? Did you know that Central Oregon Veterans Ranch (COVR) is taking the lead on community awareness about veteran-related PTSD, and participating in a larger community-wide initiative – the regional TRACEs movement – to create a safer, healthier Central Oregon? Please join Central Oregon Veterans Ranch 6pm Wednesday November 7th at Bend High School for an important and informative discussion on the nature of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its impact on the Central Oregon community. This two-part presentation will help provide a clear understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: what it is, what it is not, causes, and how those experiencing it can be helped. The presentation will also explain the mission of COVR with a particular emphasis on how the organization assists veterans struggling with PTSD. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of the impact of PTSD on veterans and their families, the magnitude of the impact on the Central Oregon Community, and how COVR is helping address the unmet needs of veterans suffering from
