“Journey to Normal” Film Screening sponsored by McMenamins Kennedy School. Date/Time: March 6, 2018 6:00 PM. Location: McMenamins Kennedy School 5736 N.E. 33rd Ave., Portland. McMenamins Kennedy School is offering a complimentary screening of the film “Journey to Normal” on Tuesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the Kennedy School is located at 5736 N.E. 33rd Ave. Portland, OR 97211. All ages are welcome and the screening is free, although some of content may be difficult for some people to watch, depending on their personal experiences. The film, according to the website, “recounts the unprecedented story of women who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Filmmaker JulieHera DeStefano launched this project to explore the psychological and social dynamics of their service, to follow their reintegration into civilian life, and to preserve their stories. Journey to Normal turns the film over to the true storytellers, the women themselves. Their collective narrative reflects these changes in our society and helps to bridge the perceived gap between military and civilian culture.” Some of the VA Portland Healthcare System staff will also attend, so we look forward to meeting you there. http://www.journeytonormal.org
