Breaking the Silence Screening with Special Guest Kristin Beck hosted by PFLAG Central Oregon. Dates: Apr 10, 2018 7:00 PM – Apr 10, 2018 8:30 PM. Location: Nativity Lutheran Church 60850 Brosterhous Road, Bend, OR 97702. ODVA is excited to screen its documentary, Breaking the Silence: an Oral History of Oregon’s LGBTQ Veterans and Servicemembers with special guest Kristin Beck. Kristin was 20 years in the U.S. Navy SEALs, taking part in 13 deployments, including 7 combat deployments. Beck was a member of the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group (known as DEVGRU) and SEAL Team Six, a special counterterrorism unit. Beck is highly decorated, having received a Bronze Star for Valor for heroism in combat, 2 Defense Meritorious Service medals, and a Purple Heart.Contact: nathaniel.boehme@state.or.us
