Exquisite Gorge Project: Combat Paper sponsored by Columbia Gorge Veterans Museum.

Date/Time: 08/13/2019 01:00 PM to 08/23/2019 05:00 PM. Location: Columbia Gorge Veterans Museum, 203 E 2nd Street, The Dalles.

The Columbia Gorge Veterans Museum, located in The Dalles, OR, is sponsoring Drew Cameron with Combat Paper for the “Exquisite Gorge Project” project, a collaborative partnership with Maryhill Museum of Art. The project features 11 artists working with communities along the Columbia River from the Willamette River to the Snake River confluences. The Exquisite Gorge project will connect artists and communities to create a massive 66-foot steam-rolled print.

Combat Paper is an arts organization, founded by Drew Cameron, that transforms military uniforms into handmade paper. Cameron’s role in the Exquisite Gorge Project is to engage local veterans as he designs and creates his 4 x 6 foot woodblock panel, one of 11 in the project.

The Columbia Gorge Veterans Museum invites veterans and the public to visit the museum during the carving process to observe and interact with the artist. Cameron will work onsite at the Columbia Gorge Veterans Museum, August 13-23, 2019. The Museum will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 1pm – 5pm.
