Grant County Veteran Services Officer Kathleen Hoffman will be holding a public meeting in Monument today regarding some new information many of our local rural vets may not be aware of:
“There’s new changes that if you are a veteran that is not service-connected, but you’re recognized by the VA as a veteran and have your veteran ID card, you can ask for outside care. It has to do with being more than 40 miles away.”
The meeting will be at the Monument Senior Center following lunch this afternoon. Hoffman also mentioned that if any vets are interested in what she has to share but can’t make it to the meeting, give her a call at 541-620-8057.
