The annual Bend Veterans Day Parade will be held in Downtown Bend this Sunday, and the grand marshal will be local World War II veteran Dick Higgins. For this week’s War Stories, we look back at Higgins’ service in the Navy including the day that he survived the attack on Pearl Harbor.
