PENDLETON, Oregon — A special moment took place at this week’s Umatilla County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Chairman George Murdock says the highlight of the meeting was the presentation of an honorable discharge to Korean War veteran David Cook by Jennifer Olson of the Umatilla County Veterans Department.
Cook was inadvertently given a dishonorable discharge in 1951 and has spent the time in between seeking to have that decision reversed.
In other business, the commissioners held a hearing on a Dry Creek Livestock District annexation and voted to deny the petition.
