A lot of conversation was generated around innumerable veteran coffee-clutches after the Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2017 was passed this last month. What was really amazing for this 115th Congress is that it was a bi-partisan landslide with 420 yes votes and zero no votes – though there were 28 who did not vote. This bill will go a long way to assist veterans who want to further their education and be more prepared for entry into the job market. I have highlighted a few of the sections of the bill so that many of you might want to further pursue the new benefits. Most of these benefits will start in 2018, so this heads-up will give you a little time to prepare – and remember these all deal with the ‘Post 9/11 Educational Assistance Programs.”
